Track Information
CMS utilizes RaceCeiver one-way radios for all events. Drivers will wear an earpiece connected to the RaceCeiver during pre-race competition while in staging, during races, and post-race. A designated CMS official will communicate instructions to drivers during yellow-flag caution or red-flag periods to speed up line-up procedures, warn of possible hazards, and give lap counts. Drivers failing to adhere to verbal instructions given by designated official(s) will not be scored for the race and will be sent off of the racing surface. RaceCeivers may be purchased at the speedway on a weekly basis. Drivers must provide their own ear piece for the one-way communication. Earpieces are available for purchase and RaceCeivers are available for rental at the speedway.
Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is a high banked 3/8-Mile (on the outside) Clay Oval track located 3.5 miles north of Warrensburg, Missouri off of Highway 13.
Weekly racing takes place on Saturday nights from April to September in four divisions: 'Mighty' Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks, and B-Modifieds. CMS hosts various big-money specials throughout the year, see schedule for specific details.
There are two general
admission grandstand areas. The pit-side grandstand is alcohol-free and is
located on the back straightaway adjacent to the pit entrance and pit
area. There is a full concessionaire stand available for those in the
grandstand and pit area as well as modern restrooms. The front-side
grandstand features up-close and personal seating running the entire length of
the front straightaway from turn four to turn one. The official scoring
and announcer's tower as well as the flagging stand are located on the front
side of the speedway, which is adjacent to Highway 13. The steeple barn
concessionaire on the front side features a wide range of food and beverages,
including alcoholic beverages (must be 21 and have I.D. ready to purchase and
consume alcohol at CMS). The track PA system is heard throughout the
speedway on both the front and back sides. There is plenty of parking on
either side of the speedway. Remember to lock your vehicles at all times,
CMS is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.
Outside food, beverages, and coolers are NOT
permitted! Everyone must have an admission ticket or pit pass, no
exceptions!
The pit area is large and grass covered and has a wide lane that runs in an oval shape throughout the area. Upon entering the pit area, competitors will have several options for parking their race hauler/trailer, including the first row to the right and along the perimeter fence, the side row along the side perimeter fence, the back row along the edge of the cut grass, and the island pit area, which is the center of the pit area. Pit areas are not assigned and are available on a first come, first available basis. There is a pit PA system available; however, drivers and crewmen are urged to frequently check the lineup board at the registration tower for event details while races are taking place. See the directions link for an aerial view of the track.
In 2008, owners Earl & Susan Walls added over 60 loads of new yellow clay, which made the surface lightning quick and ultra smooth! At the end of the 2009 season, twenty more loads of clay were added to the surface in preparation for the 2010 race season. In addition, fans will be greeted by a new front-side admission and concessionaire stand for 2010! For 2011, an additional 20+ loads of clay have been added and re-worked into the turn four area. The pits have also been re-landscaped.
Primitive Camping is allowed, please call in advance for arrangements: Track Phone 660-747-2166 / Office 816-229-1338.
After paying for your mandatory pit pass at the pit entrance, drivers need to find their pit area for the evening and immediately report to the pit registration/pill-draw tower, located next to the concessionaire stand. New drivers will be required to pay the required CMS registration fee and related forms. All drivers will draw for position at the tower in a pre-determined fashion. All division heat races start "straight up" at CMS as do the feature events, with the exception of the ULMA Late Model feature, which will be aligned by heat race passing points. Line-ups and order of events are subject to change without notification for special events!
You will find no other speedway that treats every driver the same no matter what class they compete in, what their last name is, or where they are from! The CMS motto is "fast, fair, and fun for everyone" and we stick to this motto during our race programs. Upon registering a rulebook is offered to every driver and CMS encourages everyone to familiarize themselves with the rules. At CMS, the rulebook is enforced and the race program moves along quickly. Drivers need to be prepared and ensure they pay attention to the information board throughout the evening, the board is located at the pit registration/pill draw tower.
